Five Loaves Bakehouse
Outreach can be Empowering
Empowerment of persons to make a living is one of the tenets of the Five Loaves Bakehouse. With many years of baking and cooking background, Aloma strives to teach baking skills to young persons as a way to enable them to run their own small business. Unemployment and underemployment are two major issues facing young people in Trinidad and Tobago. Training the youth to use productive skills to make money is just a small step in fighting the many social ills, including the criminal elements.
As the country encounters a small business revolution through the impact of social media, these skills are important elements in enabling those who may otherwise have little avenue to earn a living. We teach God's Love by demonstrating God's Love through skill-sharing, something these young people will also learn to do through their own businesses.
